Le 8 mai 2015 marqua l'anniversaire de la fin de la deuxième guerre mondiale.

Pour célébrer cet anniversaire très important, l'association "US MEMORY GRAND EST FRANCE" organisa une cérémonie l'après-midi du 8 mai afin de rendre hommage à tous les soldats enterrés au cimetière d'Epinal ainsi qu'à tous les noms inscrits sur le mur des disparus, c'est à dire 5 255 tombes et 424 noms gravés sur le mur. Ces soldats plus que tous autres ont valeureusement contribué à la victoire finale et la libération de la France voire de l'Europe, en donnant leur vie pour notre liberté.

Pour leur rendre hommage, les 5255 tombes du cimetière et les 424 noms du mur des disparus ont été fleuris d'une rose. Ces roses avaient été déposées la veille par une équipe de bénévoles.

Le programme comprenait la venue de la garde d'honneur américaine en provenance de USEUCOM-STUTTGART, d'un bugler de la musique de l'armée américaine, de lecture de messages des familles américaines et de diverses manifestations.

Ce fleurissement au cimetière d'Epinal fut unique, il fut le seul de tous les cimetières américains au monde à avoir été fleuri de la sorte.

At the Epinal American Cemetery on the 8th of May 2015, anniversary date of the end of the war, we, the association "US MEMORY GRAND EST FRANCE"layed down on each of the 5255 graves and 424 names on the wall of the missing a rose in a vial with water to keep the flower moist for a few days. Those soldiers, more than any others have contributed to the Victory in France and in Europe, giving their lives for our Freedom.

This project will be the only one of its kind, no other cemetery either in CONUS or overseas will be completely decorated with flowers.

Volunteers from our association have worked the day before to install the roses so that in the morning of the 8th, the graves will be ready for the celebration.

The ceremony organized by the association took place in the afternoon.

The ceremony honored our boys with a US joint color guard from USARMY EUROPE , national anthems were played along with TAPS, a french schoolchildren choir had sung, VIPS were present and letters from us veterans and families were read.

 We thought to make this day very special since our men deserve to be honored especially on that day.
